Lego Robotics - The Power Wizards!
Lego Robotics - The Power Wizards!
Lego Robotics Tournament 2007
This is the second year I did Lego Robotics. Lego Robotics is very fun and lots of work. I really like my team mates Paul, Alex, Jake (Spike). Our team was called the Power Wizards. We spent 3 months preparing for the competition. We build a robot out of Legos and the Lego NXT computer brick and programmed it, came up with the team name, a team cheer, and made a presentation and report. The competition is like really crazy. There are hundreds of people watching, rock music playing, 2 GIANT tv screens, and play by play announcers.
You compete head to head with another team to have your robot finish all of it missions in less than 2 1/2 minutes. Dude, it feels like a few seconds.
My Dad was our team’s coach and Alex’s Mom helped us with the presentation. The team saw a video of a championship team from last season in another state. They had a line follower program for the robot to find the mission puzzles. We made a line follower this year to do more missions at one time. It turned out to be a real bummer, because we lost. The table mat had a huge wrinkle in it an it confused our robots sensors. Next year we will do something simpler. We still had fun, but did not win a trophy like last year!!
